The Best Friends Cameos and Guest Appearances

So I just finished re-watching every episode of friends for what must be the nth time, and I just cannot get over how many amazing cameos and guest appearances there were. There were so many in fact, that this list is easily twice as long as originally intended, and I’m sure I’m still missing plenty!
So here are my favourite Friends cameos.
Alec Baldwin
Playing the man with the zest for life, Alec Baldwin went over the top to portray Parker. *CLICK!*
Anna Faris
Anna Faris of Scary Movie fame played the pregnant mother of Monica and Chandlers future twins.
George Clooney
With what I assume was a parody of E.R, George Clooney nails it as a Doctor
Adam Goldberg
Adam Goldberg portrayed Chandlers new and very unstable new roommate. He also portrays Joey’s BFF in the Friends spinoff Joey.
Aisha Tyler
Lana Kane’s Aisha Tyler’s Charlie is a beautiful Paleontologist who starts off dating Joey, then dates Ross, and then eventually goes back to her old boyfriend.
Greg Kinnear
Playing Charlie’s Nobel Prize winning ex Boyfriend, Dr. Benjamin Hobart starts by giving Ross a very hard time with his grant application. He very inappropriately asks Ross to leave Charlie in return for the grant, but ends up winning Charlie back regardless. Poor Ross, I’m sure there are other beautiful Paleontologists out there!
Ben Stiller
As Rachel’s date, everyone assumes that Ross is just being jealous when he tells the group of Ben Stillers “anger issues”. Step away from the duck Ben!
Robin Williams / Billy Crystal
Probably one of the weaker and shorter cameos I feel, but the raw awesomeness of this double whammy of comedic star power makes it worth it.
Brook Shields
Brook Shields plays a crazy woman who is in love with Dr. Drake Ramoray – the character Joey plays on Days of our Lives, unaware that T.V isn’t real.
Jim Rash
When Phoebe tries to stall Rachel from leaving, she tells her that the plane “has no phalanges”. Overhearing, Jim Rash freaks out. The flight staff try to unsuccessfully get him to simmer dean (I probably tried too hard on this one), forcing everyone to deboard the plane.
Reese Witherspoon
Plays Jill, one of Rachel’s spoiled sisters who hits on Ross to get back at Rachel.
Christina Applegate
Also one of Rachel’s sisters, Christina plays Amy. I don’t think I can describe her character better than better than Joey – “I think she might be the hottest girl I’ve ever hated”.
Helen Hunt
I think this might actually be the shortest cameo, but it is very meta. Lisa Kudrow played Ursula in Mad About You alongside Helen Hunt. In this scene, Helen Hunt mistakes Phoebe as her twin sister Ursula.
Charlie Sheen
When Charlie Sheen’s Navy man visits Phoebe for an erotic weekend, they both come down with chicken pox.
Danny Devito
Nothing needs to be said. Just look at the above image.
Freddie Prinze Jr.
Freddie Prinze Jr. plays Ross and Rachel’s too sensitive manny.
Hugh Laurie
I love this because it’s basically Hugh Laurie in character as House before House was even a show. After listening to Rachel rant about her life and the reason she’s flying to London (to tell Ross that she still loves him, and hopefully stop his marriage to Emily), Hugh Laurie’s character gives all Friends fans the answer we’ve been looking for. “And by the way, it seems to be perfectly clear that you were on a break”.
Jon Favreau
This actor/director plays Monica’s millionaire boyfriend who becomes obsessed with becoming the Ultimate Fighting Champion.
Jon Lovitz
In order to force Ross and Rachel to realize that they belong together, Joey and Phoebe set them up with horrible dates. Ross’ didn’t even show, and Rachel got stuck with Jon Lovitz.
Julia Roberts
Embarrassed by a prank Chandler did in elementary school, Julia Roberts’ character seduces Chandler, then steals his clothes in a restaurant bathroom. Revenge!
Sean Penn
Sean Penn plays Ursula’s ex-fiance. A sweaty nerdy man, he and Phoebe eventually fail together as a couple due to Penn’s inability to see Phoebe as her own person instead of being reminded of her sister.
Brad Pitt
Pitt plays Will, an old friend of Ross’ who hates Rachel due to her being mean in high school. What makes this even better is knowing that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were married at the time.
Gary Oldman
Starting off playing a brilliant actor and mentor to Joey, Gary Oldman’s performance transforms into once of the most memorable drunk performances on screen.
Bruce Willis
Playing the father of Ross’ girlfriend Elizabeth’s, Bruce Willis begins dating Rachel. Although very unsupportive of Ross and Elizabeths relationship, he turns out to be a pretty neat guy.
Tom Selleck
Pfff, like you didn’t see this coming as the top entry! Tom Selleck portrays Monica’s first real long-term on screen boyfriend Richard (who also happens to be best friends with her Father).
