Exciting Shows To Watch In 2016

The Shannara Chronicles

I have talked about MTV’s The Shannara Chronicles before, and why you should be excited, but here’s a recap. The Shannara Chronicles is a fantasy series based on author Terry Brooks’ work and contains a fantastic cast. MTV has also refused to pull any punches as the visuals and CGI look amazing. As a huge fan of the source material, this is my most anticipated show ever!

Air Date: It airs tomorrow, January 5 2016. MTV

11.22.63

Starring James Franco, Chris Cooper and Sarah Gadon, 11.22.63 is a Hulu mini-series based on a Stephen King novel about a man who time-travels back to November 22, 1963, in order to prevent the assassination of JFK. The project is also backed by JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions as well as having him on board as executive producer.

Air Date: February 15, 2016. Hulu

Legends Of Tomorrow

Part of the Arrow and The Flash family, Legends Of Tomorrow is about Rip Hunter, a man who travels back in time to the present day, where he brings together a team of heroes and villains in an attempt to prevent Vandal Savage from destroying the world and time itself.

Air Date: January 21, 2016. The CW

Westworld

Westworld is a science fiction thriller based on the 1973 film of the same name. Oh, and it stars Anthony Hopkins. The original film was about amusement park robots that malfunction and begin killing visitors – so it should be interesting where this show heads.

Shadowhunters

If you were a fan of The Mortal Instruments book series, then good news! If you have no idea what The Mortal Instruments is, then here is a quick and dirty summary. The protagonist, Clary Fray, is a normal girl until she starts seeing things that no one else can see. After her mother is kidnapped, Clary becomes knee deep in a supernatural underground world of demon hunters called Shadowhunters.
