People have an interesting ability to empathize with almost anything, but some fictional universes have created characters whose death truly rocks our worlds. I’m talking about that character who’s shoes we’ve spent so long walking in, that their loss has created an unfillable void in our lives. Here are the saddest deaths of fictional characters. Also, is it weird that like 50% of this list consists of animals?Read Full Article
I’ve run Kodi (or back in the day, XBMC) for a decade now on various devices. I started running it directly on my main computer but eventually moved away from a desktop to independent Kodi boxes. I started with a hacked first generation AppleTV, then moved onto a Cubox i4pro, and currently, have an AMlogic powered Matricom mbox Q.
But here we are, in 2017, and it’s time for an upgrade! I’ve spent a long time researching the best Kodi boxes on the market for 2017, and here is what I’ve found.Read Full Article
I’m a huge fan of the original Independence Day (1996), so needless to say, I was super excited when Independence Day: Resurgence (2016) was first announced. Even though Will Smith would not be in the film (Goldblum is more than enough to keep me happy) I had high hopes for this film. However, after seeing it opening day, I was devastated. That may be a little hyperbolic, but Independence Day: Resurgence just felt like one of those hilariously bad Syfy original monster/space movies, but with an absurd budget.
At the bar after seeing the movie, I got to talking about the film with my buddy and all of its flaws, and that’s when he came up with the brutally simple theory that patched so many of the numerous nonsensical plot holes. Thanks Kyle!

It may surprise you to know that I enjoy movies, and, as a human, I especially love Disney movies. Nostalgia aside, Disney has made some incredible classics in their time. Having recently watched Zootopia (2016), I got to thinking about my childhood favourites – movies that I would figuratively force any future child of mine to watch.
The following list only contains movies I myself have seen, so I’m sure I’ve missed plenty. If you feel that I’ve left one of your favourite Disney movies off, let me know in the comments! I’m always looking for new Disney movies!Read Full Article
It has been a long time since I’ve seen the unconventional horror film It Follows (2014), but I still find myself reflecting and thinking about how I would survive the entity/demon/ghost/std.
The following are some of my thoughts on what I would do to survive the horror of it.Read Full Article
One of the best parts about watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens are the many questions left unanswered. How did The First Order come into power after the fall of The Empire? Who exactly was the old guy at the start of the film – the one that Poe retrieves the map fragment from? Who is the main character Rey, and who is her family?
Let’s just rip the band-aid off right now; Rey is a Kenobi.Read Full Article
Currently, Jurassic World is sitting on $1,545,405,234 worldwide – so it’s doing something right – but I hated it. Most people I’ve talked to seemed to have enjoyed the film even with what I perceive to be glaring issues, and that’s OK. But as a huge fan of the original, I was definitely left wanting.
Note: There will be spoilers in this article.Read Full Article

I wrote an article of similar name and topic back in 2011, but a lot has happened since then in the world of movies. We’ve had some amazing blockbusters (The Avengers (2012)) and some stinkers too (The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)), but as always, there are some great films that seem to have slipped through the cracks. The following list contains more films (and some repeats from my previous article) that I feel have either skipped deserved critical acclaim, or escaped popular consciousness.Read Full Article
