Bucket List: 10 Things To Do Before You Die

Lately I’ve been thinking about where I am in life, and what it is that I want to accomplish on this earth. Unsurprisingly I still have a lot to left to do, and thankfully (hopefully) plenty of time to do it in! Here is Bucket List: 10 Things To Do Before You Die.
10: Go Skydiving
This is something that I actually recently did. In August of 2010 I went Skydiving for the first time, and let me tell you something, never felt so alive! I don’t want to hear that you are scared of heights or have a fear of flying; this is something that you have to experience. I can do my best to tell you about the exhilarating feeling of being on top of the world, and I can do my best to tell you about the feeling of passing the altitude when you don’t feel so high up anymore, but I will never be able to do it justice. I do however understand that some people are just ‘soft’ and can’t handle the shear baddassery of jumping out of a plane and free falling to the ground, and this is the ONLY reason that Skydiving is #10 instead of #1.
9: Cross Country Road Trip
This is something I’ve always wanted to do, but never had the chance to do so. Going cross country is my next goal and as a Canadian living in Ontario, haven’t made my mind up about how to do this. I could do two trips, one to Vancouver on the West Coast and one to Prince Edward Island on the East Coast, or I could fly to either Coast, rent a car and do it all in one trip. NOTE OF CAUTION: Choose your ‘road buddies’ wisely, and make sure they all help pay for gas.
8: Attend A Festival In Another Country
I don’t really care if you go to Burning Man (An 8 day festival that culminates in the burning of a 72ft wooden man), the Calgary Stampede ( Yee Haw), Mardi Gras (in Rio de Janeiro), or the Glastonbury Festival (largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world), just make sure it’s big and not in the country you live in.
7: Perform On Stage
As a musician, perhaps I’m a little biased on this one, but man is being on stage addictive! If you have extreme stage fright and are a talentless loser, then maybe you can do Karaoke instead. Something that even if you aren’t the greatest singer in the world I think you’ll find that you are a far better singer than you give yourself credit, especially if it’s a song that you know and love. Just having that one moment in your life when you are on stage, center of attention, and having the crowd go wild is a memory you will keep and cherish forever.
6: Disney World
Come on it’s Disney World! Bring out the inner child, give Donald Duck a bear hug, ride some rides, then hit the night clubs. Seriously, Disney World has a live night scene. It’s got the Planet Hollywoods, and the Rainforest Cafes, but it also has some fantastic night clubs for all of us 21+. Come on now, I know you’d love to be doing shots with Pluto and Goofy.5: Learn To Sail A Boat
This one is actually inspired by fellow Design By Pixel author, Dan. “When you are sailing there’s nothing else like it. It’s hard work that exercises both body and mind but it pays when you get the feeling that you’re moving under the power of the elements.”4: Las Vegas
The city that never sleeps. I first went with family when I was 19. Legal to drink and gamble here in awesome Canada, but still a minor in the deserts of Nevada. Despite not being able to drink or gamble, and despite being with with family, I was STILL blown away by the energy of the place. I loved it so much, that I went back last March for reading week and had the best time of my life. TIP: Stay away from the slots, stick to BlackJack 🙂
3: Learn A New Language
To be honest, I’ve never been good with languages, so to be fair i’ll allow you to either become relatively versed in another language, or to learn how to say a key-phrase in as many languages as possible! I personally chose to learn how to say “You are beautiful” in as many languages as possible. I’m sure that it will become VERY useful traveling the world 😉
2: Charity
Any asshole can donate his money, it takes a true champ to donate his time – Dylan Forde 2011.
Check out Habitat for Humanity, or search here for volunteer opportunities near you for a wide variety of charity.
1: Yell For Help
Thought this one would just be obvious.
Well thats my list! Have you knocked any of these off your list? What do you plan to do before you die? Leave a comment!
